Some group stays give you a house. La Vie Lake Retreat gives you an entire lakefront compound.

Three neighboring accommodations, The Blanc, The Noir, and The Riviere Skoolie, are booked together as one coordinated stay for up to 37 guests. This distinctive Lake Granbury group retreat gives everyone room to gather without forcing the entire group into one overcrowded house.

Across the property, your group has three living areas, two full kitchens, one Skoolie kitchenette, and multiple indoor and outdoor spaces. Everyone can come together for meals, games, and evenings by the water, then spread out naturally when they want a little privacy.

Start the morning with coffee and wide lake views. Spend the afternoon kayaking, swimming, playing games, or relaxing around the pool and outdoor lounges. As the sun sets, gather around the fire pits or unwind in a hot tub overlooking the water.

La Vie Lake Retreat is more than overnight lodging. It is a private Lake Granbury destination designed for meaningful time together.

For travelers drawn to boutique hotels such as Ace Hotel or Hotel Saint Cecilia, La Vie Lake Retreat offers a private, design-driven alternative with more room for connection.

Ideal for:

• Family reunions and multigenerational trips
• Corporate and leadership retreats
• Church and ministry groups
• Wedding-weekend accommodations
• Girls’ getaways and responsible bachelorette groups
• Wellness and creative retreats
• Milestone trips and responsible friend groups

La Vie Lake Retreat reflects the Modern Nomads philosophy: thoughtful hospitality shaped by expressive interiors, memorable outdoor spaces, and environments designed to bring people together.

Some stays are forgettable. La Vie Lake Retreat was designed to be the opposite. Three homes. Thirty-seven guests. One private lakefront compound where The Blanc, featured in 360 West Magazine, a moody barndominium, and a hand-painted glamping bus sit side by side along one unforgettable stretch of Lake Granbury.

Living & Design

Three homes. Three design worlds. One unforgettable compound.

La Vie Lake Retreat is not one interior. It is three distinct design worlds, each carrying the Winton and Waits belief that a space should feel collected rather than decorated, intentional rather than incidental.

At The Blanc, Round Top antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces move through expansive rooms that feel like a well-traveled home assembled over decades. A fully restored carousel horse stands mounted from floor to ceiling in one bedroom. A hand-carved statement wall anchors the dining room. This is the kind of design that rewards the guest who notices the details, and there are many details worth noticing.

At The Noir, a pink pool table is the first thing you see. After dark, warm mood lighting transforms the open living space, while a neon sign glows in the primary bedroom: “I like me better when I’m with you.” Expressive, moody, and completely intentional, The Noir is the design counterpoint to The Blanc’s collected warmth.

And then there is Hope. A hand-painted mural sweeping across the ceiling. Twin beds dressed in layered textiles. A queen bed tucked at the back with Lake Granbury framed through the rear windows. The Riviere Skoolie has become one of the most requested sleeping spots on the compound. Once you step inside, it is easy to understand why.

Three homes. Three design stories. Room for up to 37, with somewhere worth being around every corner.

Ten bedrooms. Three homes. Room for thirty-seven.

Across three neighboring homes, La Vie Lake Retreat welcomes up to 37 guests across ten bedrooms and thoughtfully integrated supplemental sleeping spaces. The Blanc sleeps up to 20 across six bedrooms plus sunroom sleeping. The Noir sleeps 10 in permanent beds and up to 14 with its queen and twin fold-out mattresses. Hope, the Riviere Skoolie, sleeps four in an intimate queen-and-twin arrangement of her own.

No two rooms tell the same story. Every sleeping space carries the same design intention as the rest of the compound, giving each guest more than a place to sleep. It gives them a room they will remember.

The Blanc

The Vintage Primary Room pairs a king bed with a quiet reading nook, generous dresser storage, and two closets. Its spacious en suite bathroom includes dual sinks, a soaking tub, a double shower, and a separate private toilet room.

The Abstract Room is bright, open, and artfully composed around a queen bed.

The Carousel Room pairs two twin beds with layered coral textiles and a fully restored vintage carousel horse mounted from floor to ceiling. Whimsical without feeling childish, it is one of the most memorable rooms in the house.

The Bohemian layers a queen bed with colorful textiles, collected art, and just enough whimsy to give the room its free-spirited soul. A private closet provides space to settle in and stay awhile.

The Bunkroom sleeps up to six with one full bed and four twin beds arranged in a playful, open layout. Layered pink bedding, original artwork, and room to spread out make it a natural gathering place for cousins, siblings, or friends.

The Double Room is a spacious, light-filled suite with two double beds, a sitting area framed by wide windows, and a writing desk for quieter moments. It sleeps four comfortably while still giving its guests a corner of the compound that feels entirely their own.

The Sunroom is a light-filled second living space by day and flexible sleeping space by night. Two pullout sofas accommodate up to four additional guests, surrounded by wide windows, original art, and views toward the water. This is a shared living area rather than a private bedroom.

The Noir

The Primary Bedroom is bold, romantic, and unmistakably its own. A king-size Tempur-Pedic bed rests beneath a custom art headboard and the glow of the neon words, “I like me better when I’m with you.” Vintage 1970s lighting, vaulted beamed ceilings, and a brick fireplace bring warmth and soul to the room. A dramatic 12-foot wall of glass opens directly onto a private patio with loungers, placing the lakefront hot tub just steps from the bed. Blackout curtains, a ceiling fan, and a walk-in closet complete the space.

The Front Bedroom wakes with the sunrise, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the open grassland beyond. A king-size Tempur-Pedic bed anchors the room, while a twin upper bunk and pullout trundle create flexible sleeping space for up to four. Layered floral textiles, collected art, window blinds, and a ceiling fan give the room a calm, colorful character all its own.

The Bunk Room sleeps four in two sets of twin bunk beds framed against a lavender shiplap wall. Soaring 12-foot ceilings keep the room feeling open, while individual reading lights, luggage racks, wall hooks, blackout shades, and an oversized vintage barn door make it as practical as it is playful.

The Riviere Skoolie

At the back of Hope, a queen-size bed rests beneath the hand-painted ceiling mural, with Lake Granbury framed through the rear windows. An optional privacy curtain allows this colorful corner of the Skoolie to become a cozy retreat of its own.

At the front of Hope, two twin beds sit beneath the flowing hand-painted ceiling mural, each with its own reading light and window-side view. Soft textiles and warm woodwork turn what was once a school bus aisle into one of the most charming sleeping spaces on the compound.

The lake is in the backyard. All three of them.

The outdoor experience at La Vie Lake Retreat does not begin and end with one backyard. It unfolds across three neighboring lakefront homes, each with its own rhythm and reason to stay outside a little longer.

The Blanc anchors the compound with two gas grills, a cowboy fire pit at the water’s edge, and a private boat ramp for approved small fishing vessels, flat-bottom boats, and jet skis, subject to advance confirmation and current lake conditions. When the weather turns, the oversized game room keeps the energy going with poker, pinball, air hockey, shuffleboard, ping pong, foosball, and more.

The Noir brings the wellness experience to the water. Swim in the private pool, settle into the hot tub overlooking the lake, warm up in the barrel sauna, or slow everything down with a soak in the vintage outdoor bathing tub. A fire pit lounge seats eight at the lake’s edge, while the putting green, outdoor games, and kayaks make it easy to move from relaxation to play without ever leaving the property.

Across the full compound, multiple outdoor dining areas, additional fire pits, an adult swing set, horseshoes, cornhole, and a fleet of kayaks give every guest somewhere worth being outside. Some will gather around the fire. Some will take to the water. Others will find a quiet chair and watch the light change across Lake Granbury.

La Vie Lake Retreat was designed around one simple idea: every corner should give you a reason to stay a little longer. Across three homes and one unforgettable stretch of water, that feeling follows you everywhere.
